Sometimes I find it impossible to create new invitation designs and come up with fresh concepts. It always seems that the best ideas come to you when you least expect them to. I dropped into a beautiful vintage style clothing market a couple of weeks ago and picked up some gorgeous little outfits for my daughter (ok I confess I may have picked up a couple of crochet adorned singlets for myself). The outfits were trimmed with frilly sheer ruffles, adorned with stunning laces and decorated with knitted crochet flowers. They reminded me of outfits that my grand mother had created for me as a young child. I was so inspired by the intricate detail and workmanship on these beautiful garments, that I immediately headed to one of my favourite fabric spots to pick up some pretty lace swatches. And after a day of brainstorming and designing, the vintage inspired Girl’s theme was born. I think this would make the perfect setting for a baby girl’s Christening, or for a young girl’s “vintage inspired” birthday party.
